About NSVS
NSVS commenced operations in 1965 out of a double garage in Riversdale with one Veterinarian.
It has developed to the present stage where two fully equipped veterinarian clinics operate in Riversdale and Te Anau, with retail outlets at Lumsden and Mossburn.
Seven veterinarians work out of Riversdale and two out of Te Anau.
NSVS is a truly mixed veterinary practice working with dairy, beef cattle, sheep, deer and a significant amount of horse work.
Companion animals, in particular working dogs, also comprise a substantial portion of our work.
Other animals and birds worked with include ostriches, rabbits, alpacas, pigs, poultry and some native and exotic birds, particularly Takahe.
Most medical and surgical cases are handled within the practice but we do refer some surgical cases to appropriate specialists on occasions.
Within the practice we have veterinarians with a very broad range of skills and interests. Continuing education is also a practice priority.
NSVS has 12 dedicated and knowledgeable full and part time support staff, who all contribute to the atmosphere of the practice.
